I finally found the right driver for my Sharp AL-840 to be compatible with my Windows XP, but now nothing will print. The copier copies, I just can't print from documents or the web. Protonic.com said I need a new printer or a new parallel cable. The cable is new. I just bought this unit. I can't afford to buy another one! Can you help?

SOURCE: Code CH on Sharp copier
CH code on a Sharp usually means the front door or a side door is not completely shut. Try opening and closing every exterior door until the code goes away. If the CH is flashing, it could mean either an optical or a heat roller fuse might have blown. Have you recently replaced any supplies?
SOURCE: Displaying L and 6 (flashing) on Sharp AL-1000 copier
The L-6 indicates there is a problem with the "polygon motor". This is the motor inside the laser unit. The laser is not servicable unless it is opened in a "clean room" (no dust particles). If turning the copier off and on does not resolve the issue then the laser needs to be replaced. You could try taking off the back cover of the copier and unplugging and re-connecting any wires you can see connected to any board. sometimes it may just be a wire has worked its way loose.
