Nothing..you need to go into control panel, and network settings, and possibly enable that link

    ahh..welll..that means that you have no driver for the ethernet. look on the drivers and utilities disk that should have come with the unit when purchased..should be on there.

I have a dell 2400 desktop computer. I recently got FIOS and they hooked my wife's computer to their router with an ethernet cable. Can I also hook my dell up the same way?

Depends on the hardware. Is it a router or modem? Does is have extra ports in the back,

Router with extra ports, just connect new device with wire or even wireless if it has wireless.

Modem, most likey you have to buy a router.

Cant get on the internet

The longer the cable, the slower the connection.

It should work with the cable as it is not "too" long.

I would try turning the modem and router off for one minute and then turning back on.

Trying to do a factory restall of Dell demnension 2400

typically you don't need to press ctrl at all -- usually f11 does the trick -- or going into accessories and system tools and looking for factory restore or something similar, the program has different names depending on the manufacturer. System Restore will only bring it back to a previous date...

Does dell dimension 2400 have ethernet card inside?? Basically when dell made the dimension 2400, did the put an ethernet card inside. Or do i have to buy one and install it myself? I have this Broadcom...

The 10/100 Integrated controller is the onboard network card

That basically mean yes it does have a network card built onto the motherboard.

Ethernet for Dell Dimension 2400?

You need to install the ethernet card driver of your system,

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn&SvcTag=&SysID=DJ_DIGITAL_MP
hope this solve:

howerver;
If the ethernet is not detected and it is built in to motherboard maybe is damage

If not built in; try to transfere the card to the other slot beside or its equivalent slot.

If not solve the problems;

Time to buy new ethernet card. You can buy any ethernet card for broad band connection.
