Convert tan. 0.8 to degrees minutes

The tangent of 0.8 is a number, not an angle.
Do you want 0.8 converted to DMS? If so, is it in degrees, radians, or grads? Or do you want the arctangent of 0.8 converted to DMS?

How do you get rid of a DEG on calu?

If you are working with radian angle unit or with the grad angle unit, it makes sense to 'get rid' of the DEG on calculator. Otherwise there is not point doing so as it is a reminder that the calculator is configured for degree. If you change the degree angle unit, it will be replaced by the one you will have chosen. What do you really want to do? Post a comment and we will see what can be done to please you.

For get the life of me I can not figure out how to get the degree of a cos angle. For ex. cos theta = 6.5/25 = 0.26 now how do I find the degree? Shouldnt it be 2nd key + cos + 0.26 + enter? the answer...

When using trigonometric functions (cos, sin, tan) and their inverses (arccos, arcsin, arctan) one must be aware that the result will depend on the default angle unit : radian, degree, or grad.

Apparently you are working with the degree as the angle unit, so you must configure the calculator for that unit. (See screen capture below)
Press [SHIFT][MODE] [3:Deg]

How do you use the pol and rec

To avoid errors make sure that the angle unit is THE ONE required by your problem. To verify or to change the angle unit press [SIFT][MODE] and select [3: Deg] for degrees, [4:Rad] for radians, or [5:Grad] for grads.

Convert from rectangular to polar

[SHIFT][+] (Pol) . Screen displays Pol(
You enter the X-coordinate, and the Y coordinate separated by a comma, then you close the parenthesis and press [=].

Exemple: Polar coordinate of the point (1,1)
Pol( 1, 1) gives
r=1.414213562 (square root of 2)
θ=45

Here is how you enter it
Press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO]
[SHIFT][POL] 1 [SHIF] [,] 1 [)] [=]

The screen displays
Pol(1,1)
r= 1.414213562
θ= 45

Convert from polar to rectangular coordinates

Rec ( radius, angle) =

Exemple: Recatngular coordinates of (r=3, θ=60°)
[SHIFT][Rec] 3 [SHIFT][,] 60 [ ) ] [=]
The screen displays
Rec(3,60)
X= 1.5
Y= 2.598076211

Can you show how to convert pola to rectangular o

Hello,
To avoid errors make sure that the angle unit is THE ONE required by your problem. To verify or to change the angle unit press [SIFT][MODE] and select [3: Deg] for degrees, [4:Rad] for radians, or [5:Grad] for grads.

Casio FX-115 ES: SIN,COS,TAN (answer isnt correct)

Hello,
It may be due to the angle unit used. You can have angles in degrees, in radians, and in grads. You should set the default angle unit to waht you problem calls for.
To set degree as default SHIFT MODE 3
To set radians as default SHIFT MODE 4
To set grads as default SHIFT MODE 5

The values of angles calculated by the inverse trigonometric functions are in the default unit that is set . This may be the source of the wrong answers that you get.

Hope it helps.

How do i display decimals on casio fx 115es

The instructions are below the screen. It says Mode arrow and a table of numbers.
If you want to set (use) degrees, you press the MODE key followed by the 4 key. On the top of the screen deg will be displayed.

If you want to set RAD or GRAD, similarily, you press MODE followed by 5, or MODE then 6.
However if you want to convert a result displayed in a particular unit into other angle units, you press SHIFT MODE then 4 or 5 or 6, whichever is the case for you.

Hope it helps.

I need to change to mode to degress

Under the screen you can see atable of values at the right of which is written MODE followed by a small arrow.

If you want to set the degree as angle unit, you press the MODE key followed by 4 (as seen in the table I was referring to).
Similarly, if you want to set RAD as the angle unit you press MODE then 5; and MODE then 6 for GRAD.

However if you just want to convert a number displayed on the screen in RADs or GRADs into DEGs , you press SHIFT then MODE then 4. your number should be converted from the unit it was expressed in into degrees.

Same thing if you want to convert into RADs: SHIFT then MODE then 5.

Hope it helps.

Problem with Casio FX 260 Calculator

Read the screen capture about the MODES of this calculators. DEG,RAD, and GRAD remind the user that the angle units in trigonometric function calculations and coordinate conversions are in degrees, radians or grads. They have nothing to do with the other calculations you are doing.

874c328.jpg

You can only remove DEG by changing the angle unit to RADians or GRADs. In so doing, the new unit indicator (RAD, GRAD) will be displayed instead. There is no point worrying about the angle unit indicator unless you are performing coordinate conversions or calculating trigonometric functions or the inverse trigonometric functions.

MODE 9 cancels the FIX display format: decimal are displayed with a fixed number of decimal places (set by the user). After this key sequence the decimal display format reverts to NORM(al).
