Lost disk windows xp pro

Borrow one from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker. Just make sure it is the same version as the one on your computer. Look on the side of your case for the Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker. It will tell you which operating system you have and it will show you the Product Key Code (series of 5 letters and numbers). You will need the exact same version of Windows that is on your COA Sticker, otherwise you will not be able to activate it.

When it ask for the Product key try the key that is on your computer, sometimes it wants the key that is on the CD you use to install, so get the key from whoever you borrow the cd from.

I bought a new hard drive for my dell. i need a copy of windows xp home edition that will work with my certificate of authenticity sticker.

I see you have a new Hard Drive.

I also see that you need XP that will work with the Sticker you have the only way to do that is to call Microsoft so they can give you information on how to change the Product on the XP you have and be able to use the one on the sticker you have.

Even if you download any othe windows XP it will take the product key and let windows install but after 30 days it will all say that windows is not genuine in the end.

Calling Microsoft will be the best option for you regarding your query since they are the only once who can assist you in changin the product key of the XP you have and have it registered as the product key you have on your Authentic sticker.

I hope this explains everything, have a nice day.

Get Windows XP SP3 Product key.

The product key should be on the certificate of authenticity that is included on either your computer case or the packaging of your windows xp disc.

Yes, you can use the key to install xp, but xp is no longer supported by Microsoft as a current operating system.

  • Sticker on the CD case or other packaging.
  • Certificate of Authenticity.
  • Confirmation e-mail message received from an online purchase.

Certificate of Authenticity or the sticker is on the back of the CD case.

25-character product key of Microsoft office home and student 2007

Just to add to Antioch's comment you will be asked by Microsoft to fax through to them confirmation of purchase, and possibly a certificate of authenticity. They will then issue a further product key.

If it was a version supplied by Compaq, then contact them - presuming you registered your purchase they should be able to trace the record and replace your key.

Product key

Have you checked the side or rear of your pc. You SHOULD have a certificate of Authenticity sticker with your code on it. "SOME" reset disks already have the code pre-installed and when the restore process completes it doesnt ask for a code or to be activated. If you have an Evesham disk but not an Evesham PC then the disk is not legal to install.
