This is the issue with your CD/DVD Drive. Better you change the hardware. Other wise take one pin and push in the hole which you can see in CD/DVD drive. That time the tray will open.

This is an indication that the CD-drive is detecting that the inserted disk is not FULLY inserted.
If it is fully inserted, and it is mis-reporting the condition, then spend $35 to purchase a replacement CD/DVD reader/writer.
If your CD-writer previously work, and now does not work, i.e., cannot "read" a "blank" disk, it's time to spend $40 to buy a brand-new CD/DVD reader/writer drive.
are you sure that it is a dvd writer >??? and not a cd writer ..dvd combo?? in this case you can not burn but a cd..and play the dvd ...Im saying this cause most of them are equipped like that it plays dvd-es but burn only cd-es..another thing try to install a bunner like nero ..or iso hunt ...if it doesnt want to ..maybe is all in right with the os...in both cases try to burn an image on the hdd ...like in a game that came iso...just choose burn image ..or change the device into the image burner ...and will burn a image with the recovery dvd you want to ...this one export it to another computer on a memory stick ..and burn it to a disk..
The problem is with ur DVD Writer Tray, Some of the reason ur dvd writer tray get jammed. For the temporary purpose you can use the manual eject pin hole Technique.
You can use a 3rd party software to burn any data to a CD or DVD. You can use softwares like Nero, Roxio, etc. They usually have user friendly utility on how to burn files.
If you do not have any 3rd party burning software, you can use the built in utility from XP or Vista.
You just need to right click the files or folders you want to burn > select Send To > CD/DVD. Make sure you have a blank CD or DVD inserted.

while burning normal cd you should select cd in the check box given on the top the screen .you should select the option cd or cd/dvd then you try burn it will work
