YOU DON'T MENTION THE MODEL OR THE AGE OF THE MACHINE. TAKE THE HOSE OFF AND PUT YOUR HAND OVER THE HOLE TO SEE IF THE SUCTION IS STRONG THERE.IF IT IS YOU NEED A NEW HOSE.
I JUST REPLACED THE HOSE ON MY 28 YR. OLD ELECTROLUX. NOW THE SUCTION IS THE WAY IT WAS WHEN NEW!
IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, WASH OR REPLACE ANY AFTER FILTERS.
GOOD LUCK!

We have a Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner and the power in the floor component (rotating brush, etc) is no longer functioning. The vacuum is producing suction, but does not seem to be providing power to...

the problem could be with the power head itself or the hose providing the power. If you can turn the unit on from the handle, then its not the hose and you need to get a new power head..

The carpet brush attachement loses power while vacuuming

I have seen this many times. It is either a bad connection or a break in the wire. Turn it on and flex the wire and connection until you can reproduce it dependably. Then you will know what it is and where.
It is very aggravating. You need to fix it soon, before you take to jumping up and down on it and bust the wand and the power head also.

Moter for power head

There should be a toll - free phone # on your rating plate (located on belly of the main canister) to call for parts.

Losing power to stick/floor vacuum

if you have an extension wand, the replacement will cost about $100.00. there is a way to repair both the pwr-cord on the brush assemble and the wand, but it depends on how much damage there is. also you need to check the contacts where the wand connects with the handle, and the prongs on the handle.

let me know if you still need help
