Sure is nost covered, Kyocera only hint for E4 is call a service man. In reality E4 meansFuser error. Generally you solve this replacinfg fuser lamp. Sometimes fuser error maty be caused by Drum kit fault.
Disconnect printer from poer cable, remove drum kit and put it back to verify this.
Part number is ZPB2412120101

Try to check this site though

That is a fuser heater error, cant really troubleshoot it honestly since parts need to be change or serviced.
Do you have manual, try to see troubleshooting section there it might be described.
Friend have a look on the following pic. This is from your printer manual.(page 4-10).
It says its mechanical error.(If error code is started by E).
So, in your case as per your manual you need to call a service person.
I think this will help you. and if you are agree with me you should rate my solution fixya.
Thanks

Thank you - do have manual and have RTFM, and it does not cover this. I have also Googled for the fault number, and that shows nothing either.
Have read all through manual and it is not covered. There must be a list somewhere of fault numbers and the associated diagnosis and hopefully cure. We do have two of these and the other one works fine. The failure was just on re-switching on after self-test. No smoke or flames!
That sounds feasible - it didn't seem as hot as usually. I will try it again and see.
Yes indeed - spot on, thank you very much.
