When I place a blank or recorded DVD/CD into my Liteon "LVW-5005 A" it always says "fail".
How do I fix this problem inorder to be able to use the device.
Thank you
Ben

Hi,
There is no ,LiteOn authorised repair centre in India. You can get in touch with a local repair technician for the same . Alternatively you send Liteon support people an email. Incase they have a tieup with an indian service & repair company. They would let you know.Find the link below http://www.liteonit.com/global/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=70
If your DVD recorder can still access CD's the goto the following link and select your DVD recorder from the drop down list under audio/video and download the firmware file.
Write the file contained in the zip file to a CD and insert it into your DVD recorder. Follow the instructions in the user manual to complete the firmware update.
This is a common problem with the Lite-on LVW range of DVD recorders
due to changes in the construction of more recent DVD R media. It can
be solved with a relatively simple firmware upgrade.
I have the LVW 5005 and was having a similar problem. Unplugged it tore it apart (looking if anything looked physically wrong) plugged it back in and it worked (and still is). Try unplugging it, letting is sit for 1/2 hour and plugging it back in. Might get lucky.
