I need driver and software for sony handycam dcr-trv 280

I have windows 7 home premium and everytime I try to download any kind of software for my DCR TRV280, sony tells me that my operating system does not support or they dont have any downloads for this. all I want is to copy my videos to my laptop. I have a toshiba C655 and all I have are 2 usb's, rgb and an ethernet ports. I lost the cd rom that came with the camcorder and I Am not even sure IF I buy one,that it will even work.
