You have not given any specs on what engine you have (Briggs? Tecumseh? Craftsman uses both on their machines), but most of the ones I fix use the same old standard Briggs spark plug, which is a Champion J19LM plug gapped at .030. (The Champion is not required, just the most common and you can cross-reference it to other brands. If you provide your engine make and model, then I can tell you exactly what to use. James
I'm guessing you have a standard Champion J19LM plug, which has a gap of .030. They come pre-gapped from the mfg. and usually no need to adjust them. Most of the plugs on these engines have a .030 gap. There are very few exceptions that use a .020 gap (such as the RC12YC). Anyway, here's a link to a chart I like to use for reference: (there's a drop down menu at the top to change engines, but the standard Briggs engine is the one here). http://www.manddsmallengine.com/briggs/info/plug7.html Hope this helps. James
If your mower does not have "OHV", overhead valves. You can use a Champion j19lm spark plug. If you discover you do have overhead valves; A Champion RC12YC, will work.
