Is it difficult for a layperson to replace the convergence ICs on the sub board? I have a Samsung HCL4715W 47 in. rear projection TV. We tried replacing the convergence board, but it didn't fix the problem. In trying to perfect focus, we can get the blue aligned, but not the red.
I can order the service manual if it will help, but before I do that, I sort of need to know if this is a problem I can fix without beng an expert. Many thanks!
As long as you can solder you should be okay, however i would suggest getting your ICs at the following link because they provide free instalation instructions with pictures on how to remove and replace the Convergence ICs. heres the link.
