Even though I connected the waterline, there is no water in the ice maker. the icemaker keeps turning to dispose the ice it does not have. Thinking that the end of waterline was frozen, I unplugged the frig for a day to no avail. Do I have a bad water valve or thermocopling, or what?

BACK OF THE FRIDGE IS THE WATER VALVE. UNPLUG THE OUTLET WATER OF THE VALVES, LEAVE THE INLET CONNECTED. APPLY 120 TO THE VALVE AND SEE IF WATER COMES OUT. MOST LIKELY YOU HAVE TWO VALVE, WATER AND ICE. IF THEY BOTH WORK, YOU HAVE A BAD MODULE IN THE ICEMAKER

Why has my GSS25 ice maker quit working? Water dispenser is fine.

The icemaker could be frozen where the water supply comes into the icemaker this sometimes happens if the water was recently shut off or you had low water pressure. Unplug the fridge and try using a hairdryer to defrost where the waterline comes into the freezer. I would assume you already checked to see the icemaker was turned on and the bail was in the down position. If you did All things i mentioned plug in the fridge and test if it still won't make ice afterwards you will need to replace the icemaker. The replacement should come with instructions.

Why doesn't our new icemaker in a whirlpool ed5 fridge work?

Make sure water line valve is turned on where it taps in to water line, and that ice shut off is down not up, check to see if water is in ice tray or if it is dry if no water or ice is present then water is not getting to it if water tap valve is open then water valve in ice maker is off or ice shut off arm is up instead of down. Try pouring warm water in ice tray see if that will get it started.

Ice maker not making ice , we have water in the dispencer but no ice

Is the icemaker turned on? Did someone bump the on/off lever/switch accidentally?

If not, if you put your fingers in the ice tray, is there water/ice cubes? Unit may be froze up or the waterline may have froze up. Pull your food out and turn off the fridge and let the icemaker and waterline thaw. Speed it up with a hair dryer (caution that you dont melt plastic or wires).

Have a new frigidaire how long does it take for ice bin to fill after waterline install

Ice maker will call for water 12-14 hours after plug in. If the ref was running and then Waterline was connected it should call for water in 4 hours or less. Easy rule, after 24 hours, ice bin should be full.

Water overfills icemaker. Won't shut off properly

Good day,
There is a micro switch in the ice maker that turns on the water valve for approx. 7 seconds, and then closes it.
If the valve is hanging open, even though receiving no input from the ice maker then the water valve needs replaced.

Ice maker leaks water, when you lift the bar that turns ice maker off it stops. haven't taken front cover off yet. is there a valve or seal in there.

I would suggest replacing the complete icemaker . Some icemakers , due to the coating , bubble inside or the coating wears off . When the coating wears , water will "eat" thru the pot metal aluminum . Also some have sensors that are not sealed well , and water will leak thru the seal . The quickest and most reliable way , is to replace the icemaker ( 1 year warranty on new icemaker ).

No water in the ice maker

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , and water doesn't go into icemaker , replace the water inlet valve ( the piece on the refrig that the wall waterline connects to . If it doesn't dump the water poured into it after freezing , then replace the icemaker .

Refrigigerator ice maker is not working.

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , replace the water valve ( the piece the wall waterline connects to on the fridge .). Also check the fill tube inside that fills the icemaker , to see if it is frozen solid . If so , then the water valve seeps and needs replaced . If the water freezes and does not dump , replace the icemaker . Check the coils below refrig , to make sure they are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc . An icemaker has to be 5 degrees to operate , and if the coils are not clean , that could bring the temp up to 6 or even higher .

Icemaker does not work

Does your unit have the cube size selection button inside of the ice maker door , if so is it lit up, if so is it on a cube selection. If not that is the reason the ice maker is not working because even though the unit is on the cube selection has not been made. This should solve your problem.

Hooked up waterline to side by side frigiedaire,

Your inlet tube that goes to the icemaker may be frozen. To Check: Shut off water supply to Fridge, disconnect the water line that goes to the icemaker at top back. Use a flexible item to insert in the water line connection. I used a zip tie. If the flexible item won't all the through to the ice maker, the line is frozen. Thaw out the tube from inside the freezer with a hair dryer. Re-connect everything, you now have ice . . . Solution #2: You may have to replace your "Water Inlet Valve" located at bottom right rear of Fridge. Easy to do, just follow the color codes, be sure and shut off the water.
