How do you fix an LG glimmer when the screen has turned compleatly white?

Contact LG to see if a known issue in this model---I would suspect either the power board or the main board.

the screen sounds like a wire came off....if you have insurance on the phone I would go through the provider and get it replaced....or if it is less then a year old it should still be under warranty. I have a used but good LG Glimmer for sale if you are interested.

I found the perfect solution (if you are in the market where Alltel is now Verizon). My screen stopped working and this was the third one I've had. If it is still under warranty, take it to Verizon where they are suppose to replace. But since Verizon doesn't carry the Glimmer they are forced to give you a different phone that compares to the Glimmer. They great thing about this is that the Glimmer is equivalent to the EnV Touch, a 10x better phone (full QWERTY keyboard, no block on ringtones, and no annoying ascending ringer!). So I exchanged a crappy glimmer for an awesome EnV Touch for free. So if you are now a Verizon Customer and under warranty I would totally do this!

Put mailing tape across the screen then lift it off. I think that the sceens get stuck together and when you take the tape off it "unsticks them".

master reset on glimmer is only available through the phones menu's if u can't get into it all you can do is take it to retail store to have phone flashed with software again that will reset for you.

Buying an electronic is some time testing your luck, It's could best, good, bad or even worst. As I look at your problem, I remember mine year back. This is the first symptom of LCD going to worn out. Hurry up go to your LG Service center and tell them your problem. If lucky, you don't need to replace your LCD because maybe just the connector loosen. The worst case is, you need to replace your LCD screen which is quite expensive.

Its set to the last four last digits in your phone number

you need to get a new battery.

try another battery if that does not work you will need to take the phone to a mobile service center and have them diagnosed the phone.

Update: Spoke with Alltel. They have a software fix for the LG Glimmer. You can't download it directly over the air, you'll have to take it into an Alltel store to update the phone. The File was released on 5/22/08. The file you need is T83ATV06. The phone still starts off soft but maxes out the volume in 2-3 seconds instead of the default 20. This feature was designed to save our ears from damage.
