Hi Annette,

The Nikon D90 will take pictures with many older lenses, however there are some problems with using these lenses. Most of the time, they will not auto focus and many depending on type lens may not work in any mode other than "M" (manual). No P, A, S, AUTO or any of the "Scene" modes.

Set to "M" (manual)

You will have to set the exposure values (aperture & exposure time) and focus manually. Ken Rockwell has compiled a list of lenses that may help you learn more about using older lenses with your D90.

My menu button is disabled, not working at all.

There is no way to disable the menu button. If the button does not function, it's broken and needs to be repaired, probably by Nikon. Given the age of the camera, repair will probably exceed its value. Sorry.

I have the sigma 70-300mmD i just bought for my nikon D40 and i am having trouble with the auto focus. it will not autofocus can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong and or where i can download the...

The Nikon D40 does not have an autofocus motor, relying on the lens having one. This Sigma lens does not have such a motor, relying on the camera having one. Nikon designates lenses with an autofocus motor AF-S, Sigma calls theirs HSM.

No pictuer no sound

your user manual will have the flashing light code structure indicating the fault that caused the shutdown there is no thermal fuse in your TV

projection TV`s have integrated protection circuits
built into the circuit design, these circuits turn the
power off automatically when a fault has bin detected this
is in order to prevent a more costly repair, these circuits monitor
power supply , vertical and horizontal deflection
over voltage, or x ray, and also faults with convergence circuits.
Diagnosing these faults require test equipment and a good knowledge of
electronic repair techniques, and also a repair manual.

I am unable to select the auto bracketing on my Nikon Coolpix P6000. I went to the camera shop i bought it from, but the guy had the same problem. It does show in the menue but i am unable to select it....

Check page 143 in your manual. Auto Bracketing does not work when in Manual mode or when NRW is selected by itself or in conjunction with Fine, etc. Hope this helps. I'm trying to find a way to be able to enable Auto Bracketing in Manual Mode.

Nikon d40 wont autofocus

Your 28-90 AF-D lens can't autofocus with the D40, which requires AF-S lenses with a focus motor in the lens. Sigma lenses with "HSM" (HyperSonic Motor) in the name also have the focus motor.

Nikon 18-70mm

There are several helical guides in the lens that often work their way loose. A good techincian can repair it quite easily. I see them a lot in my shop and the average repair runs between $70 and $90.
