Sounds like the monitor menu is popping up. If so, it is not your computer but the monitor that is causing the problem. Is the monitor menu button stuck?

Hi,

It seems to be a hardware issue with the buttons. They are stuck or the rubber cushion under the button has gone bad. That's the reason they are getting pressed automatically. You may take to a local store for a small repair.

Low/No contrast on main screen

There should be a setup menu for "video" where the brightness and contrast can be adjusted.

Screen is mainly blank except for one faint line. Have put new batts in and checked for any dampness on inside, every thing looks good. Still nothing on screen.

It is possible that the screen contrast is too light.
To adjust the screen contrast follow the procedure:
  1. Press [2nd] key and release it.
  2. Press and Hold the UpArrow key to darken or DownArrow to lighten. Keep pressing until contrast is adequate.

There is no feasible way to fix this. The problem is a short in the circuitry of your flat screen. If the monitor is off warranty, it's cheaper to replace the monitor than to have it repaired.

Brightness/contrast window pops up and scrolls through fast

The up/down button on your flat panel is stuck. Please contact Dell Technical Support to have the monitor replaced if its still within warranty.

Display problem

the adjustment box for colour, brightness and contrast stays fixed on the screen. i tried pressing the exit button.... after a few times it disappears only to reappear within a few minutes. also the auto adjustment option, for which we are supposed to manually press the i button, keeps auto adjusting the screen whenever it feels like it. the box appears right in middle of the screen and is a real nuisance as it blocks out the main portion.

Projection defect

Good Day;
It sounds like you may need to re-adjust your G-2 controls, located at front, remove front panels. Look for small block with screen /focus controls on item, first turn color down, reset brightness, contrast controls. Adjust until lines are at min. and picture is a good black and white (grays). Good Luck, big IRISH.

The Contrast screen pops on all the time

It looks like your UP button contact is demaged.
SOLUTION is to insert a piece from your business card mostly above the button to adjust it down or up. It works fine.
