    Used a new download disc but it only scans through photo shops. I can not get it to copy at aall.

I have just got my UMAX Scanner Astra 3400 to work with Vista by running as administrator. Go into the Vista scan properties .
You will be asked for permission. Hope it helps

Solution is VistaScan X CD only for Windows XP, when you use it withaout Internet-Connection (local)

I have ASTRA 3400 scanner, will it work with Windows 7 home premium?
UMax (the manufacturer) noted that there are no drivers for this scanner to work with Vista or Windows 7- however you may be able to get the scanner to work if Windows 7 has a built in driver- likelihood is not very good however.

My cd for Umax Astra 4800/4850 does want to work anymore
