I got a new Onkyo Cs-525 with Onkyo speakers a month back. My vendor said that it will take 300 hours of playback before my speakers completely burn and start giving the the best possible output. Now I hear a mild crackling sound in the output when I playback and the sound cracks on musical instruments like saxaphone , flute etc which was not the case when i bought it. I followed my vendor's instruction and always kept my volume below 30 and would go higher after the speakers burn completely. I read the system hand book to troubleshoot this and removed my cell phones away from the speakers and had the speakers wires hang separate . By the way my system is kept on a shelf and I have a landline phone , a modem for internet usage and a TV below. Please give me a solution.

Burn-in? On speakers? Never heard of it, especially for something not pretending to be sky-high esoteric and expensive, following the believing-is-seeing (or hearing) rule.

If I had to guess, I'd say you're hearing speaker buzz from stress or resonance from something in or near the speakers. Does it manifest itself at all levels, both speakers, all sources (analog and digital)?

Wild guess... are track lights present and ON when you hear the problem?

Onkyo tx-8011 started to go into protected mode, I thought it might have been dust buildup within the knobs of the Volume, treble, etc. cleaned no joy on that assumption. so now I am back to ?

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. The receiver may have detected a problem with a speaker or speaker wire. Please remove all of the speakers and unplug the receiver for at least an hour. Plug back in and turn on without the speakers connected. If it stays on turn up the volume to maximum and leave on for ten minutes. If it stays on lower the volume and add one speaker. Turn on and leave on for several minutes. Continue this procedure until all speakers are connected. If it does not stay on after the one hour it would need to be serviced. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. I suggest disconnecting all of the speakers from the receiver and unplugging it for at least one hour. Plug back in and turn on. If you are interested in a trade in please contact us at 800-229-1687 option #3. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Hi...I have a Onkyo CS-V720S ...I would like add at these sistem ACTIVE SUBWOOFER, CENTER AND SURROUND SPEAKERS...what model of speakers do you recommend?...........thanks

Whatever additional speakers you decide on they all have to be self-amplified.

If you want opinions you could search the web for some actual user reviews. I don't know how many of the 'experts' have any experience with that end of the line. I read a few but never found anyone who actually decided to expand on the basic unit's stereo-only capabilities.

Maybe check out Amazon for what "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought".

Have Onkyo TX-NR808 receiver. Not quite 3 months old. Unit shut down when volume was turned up, but not drastic. Tried to adjust the db levels of my front speakers, in particular the center channel. As I...

The problem is the audio output ic's, one or more channels has developed a short causing the safety shutdown to engage. The only solution is take it back where it was purchased and since it is under warranty it should be repaired free of charge if not a possible exchange.

Onkyo digital reciever has poping noise when in dolby sound

I have the same reciever, and had the same problem.  Contact Onkyo, this is a known issue where defective DSP chips were used and manifest problems with a popping / clicking sound when using surround settings.  These receivers also have a Dolby Digital input issue that can cause audio dropouts when watching cable or SAT broadcasts that encode DD using a 'newer' broadcast encoding methods.  Onkyo is covering the cost of that repair for me now, even though the receiver is 5 years old now....

Blub out again

Hi there

Keep in mind that this is only a estimate - not true hours at all.

Does your Projector go in for a service every 3 months ?

If I were you I would take back the Projector to the dealer you purchased it from and ask them to test your Ballast ( lamp's powersupply)

Did they tell you to run in your new lamp for 12 hours straight ?
