I have a Jensen DVD media pro 5000 hooked up to a ViewSonic TV in my Camper Trailer. Camper Trailer was purchased with DVD Player and TV in it. At night, due to child sleeping, I would like to be able to watch DVD movies without the sound comming out from the 4 surround speakers mounted on the ceiling. Presently, I can watch normal stations on the TV with only the sound comming from the TV volume and not from the 4 surround speakers. Therefore,is it also possible to watch these DVD movies with only the sound comming from the TV volume and not from the 4 surround speakers. If so, please send instruction. Thank you.

I have the same unit.... I found that if you turn your dvd volume to 1 on the jensen unit you then can control the dvd volume on the tv and have it come from the tv speakers. Hope it forks for you too!

Hi yes you can do this press AUD button near the on/off/volume control momentarily to step through the following audio adjustment options volume, bass, treble, balance (left to right) and fader (front to back). when the desired option appears in the display, rotate the volume control knob to adjust that audio feature. When no adjustments have been made for three seconds, the unit will resume normal operation. so you can fade the speakers to however you want them...hope this helps

As per my Jensen media pro 5000 manual, I have tried this procedure 6 times. This step, only lets you adjust each speakers. The results/option were that the sound volume, bass, treble, balance (left to right) and fader (front to back) would only fade or get louder in each speakers. After doing this procedure, I would raise the TV volume bar and still had no sound from DVD movie. The advise you forwarded me only lets you adjust each speaker. Again, what I want to do is to be able to watch DVD movies without the sound comming from the 4 surround speakers , but only have the sound comming only from the TV. Unfortunately, the advised that you gave me does not help. If no further new advise pertaining to my matter is forwarded, please refund my $6.00 back to my credit card. Thank you.

have you tried changing the audio output? SPDIF/OFF SPDIF/RAW SPDIF/PCM? if you have a separate audio output feed to the TV itself then you should be able to change the output settings using the above items, if this does not work then the audio input/output cables that are connected to the rear of your DVD player would be hard to remove for what you need if you have the time and the know how you can make up a separate feed cables to go directly from the DVD to the TV using a switch of sorts to be able to do this, and also keeping your surround sound connected, the switch would mute the surround sound and switch it to the Tv that is the only other way you can do it..hope this was a little more helpful

Not much on it and the manual doesn't mention a fuse. Contact Jenson direct, they are a great company. I have a marine unit.

I have a jensen media pro 5000 in my new camper and the dvd only played for 15 mins and now it doesn't turn any hints on how to fix

I had the same problem with the whole radio itself. It would play fine for about 2 mins and then it would quit and the blue backround would stay on the screen. I took it out of the wall and took the fuse out and put a new one in. It played fine for about 2 mins and then the same thing happened. The fuse was still good. Phoned the dealer and switched the radio. works fine now.
