    camille_mrad, Sorry , but your 920LM may have problem with it's high voltage "inverter" circuit that "lights up" it's 2 "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" (upper one) that provide "white light" so you can see what is on the screen. Eventually it may fail completely, and you will have a "black-screen-of death" condition, common to ALL BRANDS of monitors. If you will read and follow the "links" you find in the FIXYA PROFILES of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" you will be in a much better position to make the decision on what to do about your monitor's problem. Your unit may only need $6 in capacitors to be replaced on the power supply board, or an even cheaper fix by simply resoldering a "thermally-fractuerd" solder joint that has been caused by "thermal-stress" over the past 3 years of use. If someone opens your unit for inspection/evaluation, make sure they tell you the BRAND NAME of the "electrolytic filter capacitors" they find on the power supply board and report back here with information so all other owners will know what to look for! Do your research on web first!!! Then come back to fixya and do comment or testimonial to this response. Bye for now. 12fixlouie

Samsung syncmaster 920lm wont stop going off and on

Hi,

For this case, you need to open lcd case and try to find power inverter board. That cause by cold soldering joint and you need to check and resolder all them.

The top part (about one third) of my SyncMaster 920LM screen is brighter than the rest and seems to retain simultaneously the new and the previous picture for 2 to 3 seconds before it gradually fades out...

This is usually do to a section of your controller chips dying. This is not fixable by the end user, the only thing I could say to try is to try different resolutions to see if you can reduce the issue.

When i turn onmt Samsung SyncMaster 920LM 19 inch LCD Monitor it blinks on the left upper corner for a few moments

WQhen you get strange problem like this, first place to look will be the caps in the power supply section.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor Blank screen,

Open the monitor, examine the circuit boards. Look for small components that look like small cans, these are capacitors. If you see any that look bulged on top, then your problem can probably be solved by replacing these. Check out the following sites;

Follow the directions and good luck!
