Paper not feeding in canon mp497 printer

Usually this is caused by a tiny sliver or scrap of paper caught somewhere in the paper path.

First, check for paper stuck in the feed rolls. If you cant find anything causing it, its time to scrap it out. It would cost more than a new printer to fix it.

Problem 391 on OKI C5200 printer but no paper jam was found.

Open the top. Pull on the top of the toner cartridge (don't release the latch, just pull it up). It will come up with the toner drum assembly attached. You will probably see another paper stuck there which can't be seen when the drums are installed. Also, open the back door and look for paper that might be stuck. But usually, when you've checked everywhere else, the remaining paper is flat under the toner drums. Once you get it out, just click the drum/toner assemblies back in place (careful not to let the green drum touch anything while it's out of the printer.

Printer HP Office jet Pro K5400 Paper jam happened now we cant print anything. Orange button with ky just keeps flashing. Can you help please?

This typically means there is still paper stuck somewhere in that. My guess is that whatever paper as removed tore as it was pulled out. Look carefully everwhere you can.

Small piece of paper might be stuck somewhere.

bullet_s.gif If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the machine, turn the machine off, open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and remove it.
Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine.
After removing all paper, close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover), and turn it back on.
bullet_s.gif If you cannot pull the paper out, turn the machine off and turn it back on. The paper will be ejected automatically.
(2) Reload the paper in the machine, and press the OK button on the machine.
If you turned off the machine in step (1), all print jobs in queue are canceled. Reprint if necessary.

Hp 960c won't print

Have spoken to HP people on the customer helpdesk. They said to try these steps to reset the signal for "cartridge empty".

Turn off printer
Unplug the USB cable (the one between the printer and PC)
Turn printer back on
Hold down the on/off button while you press the ink alert button 8 times, then the resume button 4 times.
Release the on/off button

This is supposed to clear the problem, it didn't work for me but it might work for someone else.

Because it didn't work for me, HP then advised me to get the printer serviced by a qualified engineer as they could help me no further. I've decided against this as it'd probably be a lot cheaper to buy a new printer. Such a shame, this lovely little printer has served me very well since May 2002 for my home business.

Anyway, I hope this solution works for other people

Paper Jam

I have exactly the same printer, here's how to remove jammed paper.
1. Unplug printer from mains and your computer. 2. Turn Printer around 3. There is a darker-grey panel with a knob in the middle of it. Turn the knob anti-clockwise to release the panel 4. The jammed paper should loop around the roller. Gently pull on the loop slowly until it has released fully. 5. Put the panel back on the printer and turn knob anti-clockwise to lock it into place.
Hope this helps.

I'd be happy to type out the instructions on removing the paper underneath the tray, but this link from HP gives you step by step graphics on how to fix it properly.
