SOURCE: I have a kenmore 665 dishwasher where the spary arms do not spin.

  • First, check water level. Start machine, wait until the machine begins main wash. Open the door, the water level should be just below the heater element. If too low replace inlet valve.
  • If you can't hear the wash motor running or is just humming, the motor may be bad.
  • To check if the food chopper is blocked or broken;
  1. Remove lower spray arm by holding the arm and rotating the spray arm retainer.
  2. In the back of the tub, unclip or remove the screw from the upper spray arm supply tube.
  3. Rotate the lower spray arm support to the right while disconnecting the supply tube from it.
  4. Remove the four torx screws from the sump cover, remove assembly.
  5. There may be a primary filter in the left side of the sump, if so, remove the torx screw and the filter.
  6. On the right side there is the chopper assembly cover. Remove the torx screw and cover to expose the chopper.

Hope everything goes well for you,

Regards

Richard

SOURCE: water leaks above motor when the machine is turn on.

The seal around the pump / motor assembly may be bad. The seal can be purchased seperate from the pump.

Why doesn't my detergent in dishwasher dissolve?

I've been having the same problem. It's a Sears Elite, made by Whirlpool. The problem gradually got worse until the dishwasher failed to wash at all. It runs through it's cycles and fills and drains, but the water isn't spraying. I am still in the process of fixing it, but it seems that the pump that sprays the water has failed. The motor runs, but the pump isn't pumping. I will be taking it apart to see if it's clogged or if the impeller is broken. Good luck with yours.

Top rack dishes not getting clean

Hey- Two things could be wrong.- clog, or bad motor. Sump screen needs to be cleaned of debris. Removal of sump cover to access screen requires torx bits and some patience. Replacement of pump requires pulling out dishwasher to access bottom. Motors fail when seal between motor and pump fails. Will still operate, but become weaker over time. Parts available- motor about 100$ at appliance parts pros.appliancepartspros. Hopes this helps- Thanks- ED

Bosch SHU33A06/22 does not drain

I think so. Check for power at the pump. If so is it running. There are seperate pumps for drain and wash. It is also possible the impeller came loose and the motor is running but not turning the impeller.

Have a Model DU1055XTPT4 Dishwasher purchased in early 2007. Dishwasher starts cycle, fills and then just hums. The lights on the control panel are normal - no flashing. Washer can be drained with...

The drain pump and wash pump are seperate on that unit. So you have a main pump that is locked. The sump and motor assembly runs about $200.00 so you might try taking the pump apart first but I have never had much luck getting one of these cleaned out. The only other thing I've seen do this is a wire off the motor capacitor. But this was always on new installs.

Dishwasher fills w/ water, does not wash, but does drain.

Joel, it's hard to tell whats going on here without the full model number. The number you posted should start with a 665, 363,587 or 464.  Here is a couple of things to look for.  It sounds like you have a seperate drain pump. Remove the bottom toe panel and hopefully there will be a tech sheet behind it.  Check the harness to the motor itself.  You want to verify that there is 120V going to it when the wash motor should be running. If you hear the motor humming and kicking out on the overload, then we can assume you have something stuck in the impeller or the motor is bad itself. The tech sheet will give you a diagram for the hot and nuetral.  Check the float switch inside the tub, it should move freely up and down. This is a safety device to insure the dishwasher does not overfill.  If this is a 665,  there will be a start capacitor on the left side of the wash motor.  If one of the wires came off the cap,  the motor won't run.  Regarding the door switches,  if you have 120V going to the motor during the wash cycle, you can assume the door switches are o.k.   Hope this gets you started in the right direction...Catriver.
