No function - freezes, computer doesn't recognize it.

Yesterday my MuVo v 100 1gb mp3 player worked fine. I went to use it this morning and it loaded up saying there were no songs, so I powered it down and started it up again. This time it stayed on the "Creative" screen and would not go any further or play any music. I brought it home and plugged it in to my usb port and it wouldn't allow me to access it. It shows the drive in My Computer but takes a long time to do anything when I click it, and tells me it can't be accessed. I've had this for over a year now. Is my player toast, or is there a way to fix it?

It took a really long time for it to work, however, by reinstalling the firmware (I already had the latest version) with the "reformat" option checked actually fixed it. Luckily, I keep my songs numbered, for just such an occasion.

I had the same "no music" problem. Updating the firmware to 1.05.01 fixed it.

Creative Muvo V100 is not working

My MuVo was having problems until I installed the latest firmware. The last firmware release was in July 2007. If you haven't updated the player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo V100 Firmware 1.05.01.

If you can't get your computer to even recognize the player anymore, you could try reinstalling the Creative Mass Storage Driver 1.07.00.250.

Creative MUVO

You could try reinstalling the Creative Mass Storage Driver 1.07.00.250 to get your computer to recognize it again.

If it is also acting funny as a player, try installing the latest firmware. The last firmware release was in March 2007. If you haven't updated the player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo TX FM Firmware 1.24.02.

Of course, you'll have to get it to talk to your computer before you can update the firmware.

Media player will not recognize my 256 tx fm mp3 player

For your MuVO TX FM, there are a couple of other components you should download and install from the Creative download page for this player.

In addition to the latest firmware, which you've already installed, make sure you have the Creative Mass Storage Driver 1.07.00.250. This should allow your computer to communicate with the player.

Also, install the Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 5.10.38. This should allow you to sync WMA files to your player with the proper licenses.
