To start, we do not recommend removing the battery from a phone that is frozen while on. This can cause a short in the phone and do further damage. This should only be performed if you are instructed to do so while speaking with a customer service or technical support agent.

For an issue like this, the first thing we recommend is to try and turn off the phone, but it sounds like you have already tried this so I would recommend calling our Customer Service department for further troubleshooting. We can be reached (800) 733-6632 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I can tell you that two common causes of phones freezing are being an area with low service and unplugging the wall charger from a wall socket while the phone remains attached to the charger. It is always best to either plug in or unplug the wall charger from a socket when the phone is not attached.

Touch screen on phone quit working

Dianna,
You'll first want to make sure that the phone isn't just frozen. If you have a removable battery, take it out, wait 5 seconds, and put it back in. If the phone was frozen, this will reset it, and you should be able to use your phone like normal. If it doesn't have a removable battery, let me know what kind of phone you have, and I'll tell you how to reset it.
If that doesn't work, you'll unfortunately have to take the phone in to your carrier, as they'll probably need to replace the phone.

Frozen screen cant do anything the screen is frozen on slide to power off or cancel and neither one works

Try a reset. Hold down the power key at the same time as the round home key until
phone powers down. Release buttons only when you see the apple logo,
then wait a min or two for phone to re-boot. You will not lose any data on the phone.

If this does not work, try an actual system reset. Sync iPhone to computer to back
up essential data ie contacts apps etc, then go to settings general and reset. Reset
all settings as a last resort. This will give you a fresh start and should sort out
the majority of any bugs the phone has. A resync with you computer will restore apps etc.

Hope this helps and if so please vote.

Thanks

Motorola Q9m frozen how can I get my contacts

I can't tell you how many times this phone has frozen, and unless you've been using a sync program, you're out of luck.

You can do a hard reset, which resets the phone to factory settings by removing the battery to shut down, then put the battery back in. Hold down the middle key on the silver directional pad while powering on. It takes 5-10 seconds but you will see the "Master Reset" option on your screen, follow the directions.

This happened all the time until I went to the Motorola site and did full phone update ( http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/Motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSelect.asp?country=USA&language=ENS ) Now my Q9m which used to freeze 1-2 times per month hasn't frozen in 6 months - good luck!

Is your phone in the frozen state even after removing the battery for two full minutes? If the phone is still frozen you will not be able to do anything with the phone until this is resolved. And the way to do that is to do a hard reset. Unfortunately there may be no other alternative but a hard reset. The new Samsung Instinct has mobile sync which automatically backs up your contacts into your sprint.com account so if this type of thing were to ever happen you would have the comfort of knowing that your address book was still intact.

Frozen

Take it out of the freezer.

ba..ba...BUM!

No, seriously, have you tried to reset it? Is your battery good?
Did you drop the phone on the ground or into water? If no dice after the reset, take it to a phone dealer who might help you.

Nokia 7373

It appens rarely, but if its frozen, you'll have to take the battery out to do a restart. Leave the battery out of the phone for 5 minutes before restarting. Its not recommended to do this very often, it can cause problems. But try it and if you get a problem try this:
Take your SIM card out.
Make sure your phone battery is fully charged.
Press * 3 send at the same time and turn the phone on. Keep them pressed until the reset screen appears.
Give it time to reset.
Yes! I know, you need someone to press the ON button.
