My 24 volt lawn mower is all of a sudden not working, it is just over 2 years old. You can hear it but the noise it was giving off is missing?? It doesn not have the same sound. The blade is turning, I am wondering if it is the sound of a fan that I am not hearing?? What can I do, i need to cut my lawn but cannot use my lawnmower. thank you, Elizabeth

If the blade is turning it should cut grass. Try mowing. If it's not cutting the grass then the blade is not turning, or is no longer turning at the proper speed. Look for a fuse or circuit breaker. But after 2 years the battery may have a problem. Try the manufacturers website for help: http://www.blackanddecker.com/en-us/support

SOURCE: changing batteries in black and decker cordless lawnmower

You can find parts information and exploded views for your mower here. You'll need to pick the series mower you have from the list. The service site's home page is here. At the bottom of the center pane is box where you can enter your model number to find the manual. With the views they give, you should be able to get the mower apart to replace the batteries yourself. Good luck on the project!

My riding lawn mower will not start. Only 2 years old.

if you can give some information as to what it is or is not doing i may be able to help you. if it is only 2 years old i would guess it is a dead battery.

Batteries shows fully charged. 24 volt shows 27 volts fully charged but shows RED light when install in mower.

it's never the motor, it's always the batteries.
you are most likely testing the batteries with just a meter and not under load
you will need a tool to put the battery under a load, it will end up costing more than two new batteries.
just replace the pair and you will be fine, i have done enough of these over the last few years.
good luck and you will have no problems with the new batteries.

Try jumping the battery with a car as long as the two are 12 volts.
If this starts the mower, it is the battery.
If the mower won't start with a jump, there is a different problem.

Tractor wont start unless I jump it

How old is the battery? When you get it started put a digital volt meter across the battery terminals and with the throttle about 1/2 open check the voltage. If should be over 13 volts DC if your charging system is working ok. If it is over 13 volts your battery has probably just given up. Lawn mower batteries are only good for 2-3 years. A trickle charger can extend the life if used.

I hope this helps.

About 3 months ago whilst mowing lawn, the engine stopped.

Likely that the piston rod is snapped. I had a mower engine break down this way. To test it, slowly pull the starter cord and listen for any sounds. If you hear clunking, it is likely that the piston rod is broken (i.e. the engine is broken for good). If you don't hear any clunking, but hear the usual slow thwup thwup thwup of compression as the cylinder moves (sound will come primarily from the muffler, you may have a blown gasket in the engine, which is fixable, but only if you are mechanically inclined. Good luck-
