I have an advent 4211 netbook and am trying to load cds onto my itunes account using an external CD ROM but my computer (windows XP) wont recognise the device. Any tips?

Hi

open itune click file and choose add file to library you seek in external drive and you selected the musics you want to add other than to import all the music you choose add folder.

Error means the boot files are missing or damaged. Try to restore the computer using the disk that came with it instead of using the recovery console.

My friend has a advent 4211-b netbook was working fine until it would not let him load xp or reboot in any mode it just looks as if going to load then goes straight back to load windows normaly
Try to start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

Since you didn't post the Windows version, I'll assume Vista

Using your Vista install/recovery DVD

Advent 4211-c netbook wont load up???????
Have you tried booting in to a Safe Mode and trying to work from there. You can also try using external DVD/CD drive and hopefully it recognize it. Hope this helps.

Hi,
If you are getting a message that requires to put in the operating system CD to repair windows . this means windows has crashed. You can try pressing the F8 key slowly 5 -6 times as soon as you power on the computer. You would get a screen that says Advanced options menu. Try selecting last know good configuration. If the same doesn't work. You would have to invest in an external optical drive(USB) and a windows xp cd to run repairs. Alternatively you can call the manufacturer in case they have carry in repairs for the notebook.

I have an Advent 4211 Netbook. When I switch on windows XP will not start, just takes me to the screen which offers Safe Mode, normally etc - but whichever I try it just comes back to this screen
XP is corrupted, most likely caused by a massive infection. Try a Repair. Follow this instructions http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm 
If this doesn't work (or goes back they way it is now very quickly) use a Linux Live-CD to backup all your files and reformat your pc and do a clean install.

I have loaded norton 360 3.0 onto my laptopnow it will not load cds onto my e/m e625
I hope this will be useful to anyone with driver problems for atapi as i found myself in a pickle with one of their cd roms yellow triangle etc. the problem is with the atapi drivers not being recognised- code 19 and when you update the drivers you ll be told their up to date= no fix. why this happens is antivirus programs can alter the drivers for roms in THE REGISTRY, you may have recently instaled norton 360 for example as did I which knackerd mine.

a genuine microsoft fix.

This is how you fix it for good go to google search engine TYPE IN the following numbers - 314060

you will see a link for - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

go to this page -scroll down it and you,ll see 2 icons men with spanners one is a patch for vista the other for xp .

download the patch for XP even if you have vista as the vista patch wont work when downloaded you can run the fix which will need a computer restart. once restarted your computer will recognise your cd rom again.

Can ''Age of Empires'' run on a netbook via SD card?
you can if ur advent is running a windows format, if it is a linux based, you will need a linux copy, but yes you can! you have to install the game to the sd card, just like you would to a regular hdd. I have the original warcraft and warcraft 2 on an sd card, that i use with my ASUS mini....www.computereworld.com
