Can you pick up the handset and dial a number and speak to the other person using the handset..?? You might just require a filter which your telephone company should be able to provide.

How I can receive fax through computer with HP1312?

Hi a barati75

A fax transmission is an analogue communication that was possible on a computer with the old technology of Dial up Modems, which accessed the internet by dialling like a landline telephone. The Broadband Modems (or Modem/Routers) in widespread use today have an 'always on' internet connection and, therefore, no dialling is involved in internet access using them.

You can send a fax by dialling out on the All-in-one printer's telephone number pad. Receiving a fax automatically requires you to have the All-in-one printer's Transmission/Reception Settings set to 'Automatic'.

This fax setup requires the printer's fax cable to plugged directly into an empty Telephone Line Socket on the ADSL filter that plugs into your Telephone Wall Socket and has inputs for your Modem (or Modem/Router) and a Telephone line. If, as is common, your ADSL Filter only has a single Telephone Line Socket and you also require a telephone to be plugged into the same socket as well as the Fax Machine component of your printer, then a Telephone Line Socket Doubler must first be plugged into the Telephone Line Socket of the ADSL Filter which then receives the Fax Line into one socket and the Telephone Line into the other. Please note that every Telephone Socket in the building sharing the same circuit/telephone number must also have an ADSL filter between it and any telephonic device (Telephone/Fax Machine/Answering Machine/Stock Control linked EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) System/Card Payment Processing Machine, etc.), in order to enable both Computer Internet Data and Telecommunications Data to share the same line without conflict.

Your question asks whether a fax can be received "through" the computer. The above description enables your printer to send and receive faxes 'independently' of the computer while simultaneously providing the computer with printing, scanning and copying functions. For faxes to be sent and received via the computer, software is required. The simplest and most efficient of which is Efax (Electronic Fax (available from www.efax.com) and other similar software available from a variety of suppliers. This software enables the user to send any document or image stored on the computer by fax (without first having to print it) and to receive faxes, at any time, in the form of attachments to e-mails that the software opens, usually as a non-editable PDF or other similar secure Document Format. Faxing a physical document via Efax requires the user to scan the document and save it on the computer first, before sending it.

A combination of a Standalone Fax function setup using ADSL Filters and Socket Doublers + Efax gives the user optimum flexibility in sending and receiving faxes.

I hope this helps.

Does Your DSL filter work for any analog modem attempting to send a fax (via fax software) using a DSL phone line?

Hello, Thanks for allowing me to help.

Sending a FAx over a telephone using adsl can be tricky, using a filter will help but you might want to make sure your baud rates are low, TRY 9600 baud, if you get any higher then that your filter might not filter it out and thus confusing the adsl connection.

I know mine works fine, make sure your fax is plugged into the TELEPHONE side of the filter!

I use 9600kbps , I do not recommend going any higher then that.

If that does not work you going to need to try another filter, last but not least call the telephone company if you are loosing connection.

Thanks for the questions, I hope my answer was Very Helpful.

Muratec F-110 fax machine can send faxs but does not receive, i tried different phone lines, changed configurations changed toner, drum. nothing seems to work thanks, rick

Make sure the machine is in Fax mode and NOT Tel mode. Other thing to try is to pickup handset and listen to see if you hear "Dial-tone" from the line...if you don't then you have probably lost part of the NCU pcb in the machine.

Error #252

This is a poor fax line error. The line quality has noise or some issue causing the fax receive /or send to fail , often people use the same line for faxing and ADSL (telephone provided internet) and this will cause noise on the line. To fix this I have used a noise filter that came withe the DSL router from the Telco. sometimes ive even had to use two, one on each end of the phone cable before the line was clear enough to send and recieve faxes without a problem. If this is not your case, have the person sending the fax do one at a time or vice versa. Hope that helps you Gurvy

Error 351

  • The following is for error code 351
  • The remote machine failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine because the connection was interrupted. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power outages and other power-related problems.
  • The call-waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line.
  • The remote user pressed the Stop key while the reception was in progress.
  • Under rare conditions, incompatibility between the two machines might cause the remote machine to abandon the call.

Solutions
  • Retryt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
  • Disable ECM. Errors might still occur, and might result in a degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to send the entire document will be improved. Try sending at a lower transmission speed.

Hi check the following steps
Problems with sending and receiving FAX

Check the TELEPHONE LINE

Check LIU

Make sure the Line Interface Unit (box that the phone cord plugs into) is fully seated into the back of the fax product.

Remove the SPLITTER

Remove any other devices from the line such as splitters, credit card machines, or telephone answering machines.

Muratec mfx1430 fax problem

To determine if the problem is your 1430 or not.....remove the machine to another location....YOUR HOME; or a friends business where you can plug the machine in and test it. Have someone other than the person who you are having the problem with send you a fax. Once you know its your machine or not you can proceed from there.
