It says reading disk and that is as far as it will go.

The unit is trying to read the disc. when it cant do this as a security feature so the disc is not jammed in the unit it discharges it. the reason is a dirty laser or bad disc. as im sure you have tried several disc then i would move to the last stage or repair you need to get the lazer clean there are two ways to do this send it into the shop for a servcie pro to take the unit apart and clean the lazer. but in most cases its just a little dust on the laser lens that can be removed using a laser disc cleaner you can buy them at most electronics shops that sell electronic equipment such as tvs dvds etc. they range from $5 to $40. purchase one and run it through you dvd player several times and you should be right back on track..
