You need to open your PDA and check for a false contact between the connectors of the LCD screen and the main board.
Other cause may be that the LCD screen flat ribbon cable is defective.
Either problem requires to open the PDA to check it.
If you have experience in opening electronic devices then you can try it. Otherwise, I do recommend you to have a experienced technician in checking your PDA.

This happened to me and i got so mad that i broke the screen. But that was a good idea because then i got a new screen and now it works fine. Just get another screen and it should work fine. or you can just get the digitizer part and swap out your LCD parts.
Sounds like the circuit board may need to be replaced. Mine did a similiar thing only my picture turned upside down, screen went blank yet had good voice. Samsung tech said the 2 circuit boards were bad and had to be replaced at a cost of $780 in parts plus labor. I bought a new LCD TV, not Samsung.
solia, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to close the chat session on you. Is your unit still under warranty? If so, check with the manufacturer. They can help.
I am guessing that you have made sure that it is fully charged. If it is, since you have only had it a week I would try a hard reset. I don't know if the 3115 has them but check to make sure that any battery door lock switches are locked.
If it's completely dead USB probably can't do it at all. There's a voltage threshhold, and USB only puts out about half the voltage needed to get over it. USB usually won't manage when thenbattery's below 30%.
Try connecting the iPaq directly to the AC adapter.
