You just put the amount in the plastic cup, as long as it doesn't cover the safety valve that should be fine. Make sure your filter plate isn't clogged.

Side valve is releasing pressure too early.brikka is 3 months old

check your filter plate to make sure it isn't clogged , that could make the safety valve do it's job and go off.

Lost the measuring cup! Does anyone know how much

There is a line inside the water compartment, look for the rectangles that go from the bottom up in the walls, there is a line above them... that is the level for gas stoves, for electric ones just put a little more.

I need instructions for a Cuisinart Iced Cappuccino Maker

I have a PDF of the user manual if you want me to e-mail it to you. In the meantime, here is my Wiki Manual (BTW, pagan, the machine does make hot espresso or cappucino, but it doesn't froth per se like a regular espresso machine - it just heats the milk internally and dumps it into the espresso):

General Directions for Making Iced Cappuccinos
- Place carafe on top of drip/tray grate with handle touching right front of ICAPP – the ice fill lines should be visible when looking at front of unit
- Turn “milk knob” to OPEN position, and open lid of ICAPP
- Remove milk container, espresso collector, espresso spinner cup and cover
- Put espresso collector back in place with two plastic teeth facing front of machine
- There is a stepped fill line inside water reservoir that measures off 1,2, and 4 cups
- Fill water reservoir with either 1,2 or 4 fill line cups – do not overfill to avoid damaging the electronics
- Add espresso grounds to espresso spinner cup
- Line up teeth of spinner cup cover with spinner cup so that the cover locks into place
- Fill milk reservoir with 3 oz of milk per cup of iced cappuccino that you plan to make – there is a fill line that measures off 2 cups or 4 cups
- Fill carafe with either 2 cups worth of ice or 4 cups, depending on how much iced cappuccino you plan to make
- Press down on lid and turn milk knob to HEAT postion
- Turn ICAPP on using the ON/OFF button – it will begin to heat – takes about 5-6 minutes (HEAT light will stay on during this process – doesn’t make noise or steam for several minutes)
- When READY light turns green, turn the milk knob to the DISPENSE MILK position – your espresso and milk will start dispensing
- Unit turns itself off automatically when ready – takes several minutes

NEED DIRECTIONS For Model ICAPP-4

I can answer just about any question you have on the unit - I wasn't able to find the manual online, but I would be more than happy to scan and e-mail you my copy of the original manual. In the meantime, here is my basic Wiki Manual:
Since I am not well-versed in the copyright laws regarding reprinting copies of standard user’s manuals online, I am writing this Wiki Manual for the ICAPP-4. My unit is 12 years old (in 2009) and continues to run strong through two different owners.

How much coffee?

Fill it as full as you can with fine ground coffee. I cut the resulting brew with an equal amount of boiling water. Called an "Americano" in Italy.

Good evening! I have received the Ā Kontessa Ā Vev Vigano Ā 12 cup from my family Ā but I don't have an Ā instruction book with it.. Ā is there a Ā place where I can download Ā some simple instructions as to how...

You could use any Bialetti or Vev Vigano instructions created for aluminum pots. I have a 6 cup Vev Vigano Kontessa Inox, but the instructions that came with it were standard. Remember to use correct measurement of water and coffee. Coffee grind should be espresso. I don't know about 12 cup, but assuming that it's double of the 6 cup size, I use 9 oz of water and 6 tablespoons of espresso grind. You could go to www.vev-vigano.com. Their customer service is pretty efficient. Even if you didn't buy your pot from them, they'll reply usually within 24 hours. Good luck.
