I recently worked on one. I first advanced the timer in the rear left hand side at the base to make sure it was not hung in defrost.
I recently worked on one. This one was a Whirlpool but the charging method on all of them is all the same. I let it run a while, the compressor and fan was working but no cooling. I recharged it because the gas was low. I took some PHOTOS
remove the back panel of the freezer and see if the evaporator is a block of ice (evaporator is something kind of like a radiator) if is a block of ice replace the defrost thermostat ( a little sensor whit tow wires) and the defrost timer ( usually next to the refrigerator thermostat inside the fridge side)
It sounds like the unit is low on freon or the compressor is going bad. You have several other components that could be affecting this as well. Make sure the coils are free from dust and clean underneath. This is a bit premature for you to have problems now, especially since it is a Sears product.
Check these two things first. 1. Is there a thick frost buildup on the back panel at the bottom half of the freezer? 2. Do you hear the fan running inside the freezer? Let me know what you find.
