No remote specific to Sharp combo unit..how to turn off closed captionning

Bought an older sharp tv/vcr 13vt/k100...am able to use Universal Remote to work the channels but not the menu for the tv...how do I turn off the closed captionning? I KNOW HOW TO READ AND I CAN HEAR!

We used a One4All model URC3021BOO remote. We programmed BOTH the TV function and theDVD/vcr button with code 0807. To access the menu PRESS TV then MENU button then DVD/VCR button will allow you to change menu functions using left and right and select buttons. *TV button will access Menu screen BUT NO menu functions. * DVD/VCR button will NOT access menu screen but WILL control menu functions if menu is already displayed. May work with other sharp products, or other universal remotes? These original (RRMCG1330PESA) remotes run 38.00+ to buy new so try this FIRST!

On some models the menu button is on the front disguised as the volume up/down or channel up/down buttons. you have to push both up/down buttons on either one of these to bring up the menu.

the remote could be bad get a unversil look up vcr codes not tv found thoses to work for combo unites give that a try or go to ebay for the right remote

Cannot be done but a replacement (original not universal) should be available from Sharp and not overly expensive.

I have a sharp tv/vrc combo without a remote. I'm using a universal remote but wont let me get into the menu. I need to change it from cable to air. Can someone help?

For sharp TV-VCR Combo with universal remore control,

1/ Start by pressing SET & TV at the same time, the LED goes solid RED

2/ Press 009 or whatever code works for your TV.

3/ Confirm that you can now use your control to flip channels..

Then,
4/ Just press the blue button 2-/12. That allows you to change from cable to air and vis-versa. Hope that helps.

We recently had a flood in our home and my Sharp 13VT-K100 was ruined. Do you know approximately what this TV Cost new? And is there a TV that replaced it? Thanks for any info. Patti

Tamper proof when you don't have original remote

If you have a universal remote you have to hold the button that says toggle or a button equilivent to that for five seconds than the tamper proof light will turn off than you can you tv on I had to figure this out on my own.
