It's possible that the DVD you are trying to play was manufactured for a different region than the one your DVD player is set to. DVD players are designed to play DVDs that are encoded for a specific region or regions. For example, a DVD player that is set to Region 1 will only play DVDs that are encoded for Region 1.
You can check the region code of your DVD player by looking at the back of the player or consulting the user manual. You can also check the region code of the DVD you are trying to play by looking at the back of the DVD case or consulting the information that came with the DVD.
If the region code of your DVD player does not match the region code of the DVD you are trying to play, you will see an error message like the one you described. One solution is to try setting your DVD player to a different region and trying to play the DVD again. However, keep in mind that most DVD players can only be set to a particular region a limited number of times, and once the limit has been reached, the region code can no longer be changed.
It's also worth noting that some DVDs are encoded for multiple regions and will play on any DVD player, regardless of the region code. If you have a DVD that is encoded for multiple regions and it is not playing on your DVD player, there may be another issue at play.
Yes there is a region code built into the dv220mw9a depending on the region where the unit was sold. The version sold in the US will only read region 1 or All region DVDs.
Where was your DVD player purchased and what region code is on the DVDs? Please add a comment with more information on your problem.
You are getting a region code error. You should return the DVD and get one that is formatted for your region.
You can change the region code on your DVD player, but I advise against doing that. You are limited by built-in piracy protection to changing your region code only three times, and then your DVD player will be permanently disabled.
An alternative is to download "DVD Shrink" to your PC (if you have a DVD burner in your PC) and it will convert most DVD's to "region 0" which will work everywhere. The trade-off is some loss of quality. DVD Shrink is available for free and you can google to find a website that has it.
Properties like region are built in features. Keep that region setting to "0". Remember u can change it only 5 times, after that it stays locked in the last entered region!...sodeep

The Panasonic is not "region restricted". This is a security safeguard by studios to keep people from region 1 from using region 3 content. Some material is released in other countries first and later in others. This keeps other regions from using the content from other parts of the world before it is relaesed by the studio there. Your Zenith is not a region free player and the Panasonic is.
There is sometimes hacks on Videohelp.com for DVD players to be set to "region free" but not all DVD players are built with it. SONY is another non-hackable DVD player.
