I'm using a kenmore refrigerator as a kegerator and I need to know if there is anything I should be aware of on the side of the fridge walls as I have to drill a hole into it to attach the hose from the keg inside to the beer tap on the outside.

Any lines that run through the cabinet should go up the back or and/or around the door. I would carefully cut a hole in the liner and pull the insulation out in small peices just to make sure.

If it normally says 4 for the fridge, that would be 4 degrees Centigrade, which means the freezer should show minus 18'C. Or 36'F Fridge / 0' F Freezer/
sounds like maybe no coolant in system if compressor is working. you know like in your car a/c unit, sometimes refrigerant needs to be added. just a guess, I'm not an expert.
check and see if there is anything blocking the side to side vents in inner wall- small1x1 vents,also ,anything hanging past edge of selves in fridge side causes air not to move around like it should - can cause drastic temperature swings
Almost all ice makers have a plug on them and the fridge has a corresponding plug. If you cannot find the plug in the Fridge - look in the area of the ice maker for a plastic plug in the wall of the fridge. If you've added this to the fridge after the fact then you may need to fish out the plug from the wall of the fridge.
If the compressor is being used for extended times without resting or getting the product cooled, could be the problem. On small refrigerators the inside is sized for the work load. The condenser coil on back or in some cases under the outside skin of the refrigerator is designed to cool the area inside by releasing the heat from inside.. If you have a side by side model you need to look at the refrigerator compartment wall on the left of the bottom drawer and move the slide control to the warmer/fruit/vegitable setting instead of the meat setting.
