Wacom cintiq 18sx wont display a screen.

Hi, I have a Cintiq 18sx, the screen remains black on start up and never shows an image. The power light indicator goes from oarnge to green though so i know its making some sort of communitaction. Also when i boot up in duel monitors i see i have my normal monitors desktop expanded so i know the computer sees it. I have also tried another wacom with success so i know its not my video card. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: wacom 12 wx cintiq

I had the same problem at first but managed to solve it. In my case I was setting up in tandem with another monitor and once I had correctly set the pixel dimensions of both monitors and set them to to 'mirror' mode it works pretty well. The only issue now seems to be a slowing of stroke speed ie the cursor lags behind my strokes. I have downloaded a new driver but not installed yet. Does anyone else have this problem?

SOURCE: Wacom Cintiq won't turn on

Hi Joni Lu: I had the exact same problem with my Cintiq 21 UX. Mine is similarly, about 5 years old. I called every where looking for an authorized or unauthorized repair shop... but to no avail. I finally called Wacom tech support and they told me the unit had to be shipped to Vancouver Washington to be repaired in a "clean" room because of dust. Knowing the expense that would incur (I'm in Toronto Canada), I deliberated for a few days before deciding to open it myself. The reasoning being I could see the back of the power button plate through the air vents in the back. I don't think the power button assembly was part of the sealed screen assembly. First I made sure it was unplugged. Then I lay it flat on it's front and took off all the screws. There's a copper foil that covers the back of the power button and screen controls assembly. After lifting it off I jiggled the wires, unplugged and plugged the wire connectors for the power button and the screen control sections and made sure all the screws were tightened. After replacing the back and plugging the power plug in, I tested the power button... and LO AND BEHOLD it worked perfectly!! Cross my fingers, it's been an hour now it's still working. I think I may have saved myself 3 grande by taking this initiative. Hopefully this helps Joni_Lu.

SOURCE: I just got a cintiq

I had this same problem and just had to go into my system preferences on the imac and select display and then select/check the mirror monitors and now it is on sync-hope that helps! After I did that though my color is off on the cintiq so I am looking for suggestions on how to fix it as the calibration did not fix the problem.

SOURCE: photoshop cs4 pen pressure not working. Windows

In photoshop, press F5 to bring up your brush control window. Under shape dynamics and other dynamics and any other brush attributes you wish to control with your pen, make sure that control is set to "pen pressure" in the drop down menu. Hope that fixes it for ya.
