Does anyone have a solution to this? I'm also running into the same
problem while installing the brand new printer. All I've done so far is
plug in the line cable into the L slot, plug the power cord and pressed
the ON/OFF button. The power button and the alarm lamp lights up one
after the other and the message "Check Printer" and 5100 are displayed
    on the LCD.

I hope someone can give some tips. Thanks in advance!

Check for a small clear rectangular hard plastic bit that you may have left inside the printer when you removed the orange protective tape from the inside the printer, on the right (Step 3, Easy Setup Instructions). This solved the same problem for me.
