If you are using s-video connection then replace the s-video cable. if you are using the Y,Pb,Pr connection make sure that are using all three connections because the Y or lumins connection will give you black and white only the others give the rest of the colors.

How do i connect nad av 316 with an lg tv ?

The NAD from what I've seen of the back of it has no digital audio inputs. So unless the TV has standard audio out RCA type connectors you will struggle. If it has a scart socket you can buy a scrat to phono converter. An image will be posted with this message.
However the NAD has only Dolby Surround. It has not got a Dolby Digital decoder so it can never produce the Dolby Digital sound used on DVD/Blue Ray discs or that found on HD TV broadcasts.
As you didn't say which TV model number, I can't say anything more except if it is an HD model and has digital sound connections you really need to upgrade your Receiver to one that has the latest features.

I have a marantz sr3001 and the sounds and image is good but the picture is in black and white. How do I get color?

If you're using component cables I would suspect one is not connected or working. Isolate by swapping them around. OR bypass the whole receiver. What does it really do for external source video anyway besides offer opportunities for cable issues and degradation?

I always run my video directly to my TV.

I am trying to hook up my home theater system

marvidson,
With the NAD model that you have and its lack of component or HMDI switching, the only way is to connect your system, sort of, backwards.

The only way to do it is to connect your digital cable box and blueray player directly to the tv, then the audio output from the tv to one of the video inputs on the NAD. The NAD has digital coaxial and toslink inputs so if your tv has one of them as an output, that would give you the best sound to the NAD. If your tv does not have either of those outputs, then you will be limited to the composite outputs (red and white) but that will still give you good sound.

Also, depending on the digital output to input configuration, you could possible find a converter online.

How do I connect to Sharp HDTV and Comcast cable

Your dvd recorder only has rca, red white yellow inputs it wont allow you to record in HD, although you can play your comcast box any hd, regular digital through and record. Hook up the comcast box if HD through preferably HDMI if not get one from comcast. The HD box is the only box that allow HDMI, component and regular RCA and some RF out. This way you can play HD to your set but also record through RCA or RF again will not allow for HD record unless its TiVo. Hope this helps

Connect Audio and Video out of DVD player respectively to DVD in of receiver. Good Luck :)

Using NAD t743 with Panasonic DMP-BD55

The reciever you have has 5.1 inputs at the backof it.The only way to get Dolby True HD and DTS HD is to run the 7.1 analog out from the bd55 to the nad. You'll have to leave the 2 rear surround open on the bd55 leaving the remaining 6 connected to the nad. The digital coax and the optical will not transmit the hd data, only the analog out will. Run a hdmi right to your HD tv for picture bypassing your amp. this will workfine and you'll have the audio you want. You,ll have to change the input settings for dvd in your amp to 5.1 to recieve the audio.
