Re: waste ink is full how to clear this message
A) How to enter Service mode Follow the procedure below to enter Service mode. 1) Turn off the printer. 2) Turn on the printer while holding down the [Paper Source] button and [Online] button. 3) Check that "Canon W8200" is shown on the display, and then release the buttons. 4) Next, "SERVICE MODE" is shown on the display. (If sheets are inserted, this will be displayed after the sheets are loaded.) 5) Use the [Lower arrow] button to make a selection. Service mode is added to the options in the Main menu. Service mode can be entered even during error status (when Exxxx and Wxxxx are shown on the display) by turning the power off and then using the above key operation. b) How to exit Service mode To exit Service mode, turn off the printer. c) Buttons used in Service mode • Selecting menus and parameters: [Left arrow] button or [right arrow] button • Entering a lower-level menu: [Lower arrow] button • Entering a higher-level menu: [Upper arrow] button • Setting menus and parameters: [Enter] button
Now under service mode select counter, and select printer and W-INK to reset it, and under initialize select W-INK. But also change the waste ink absorber so that you do not get waterfalls of ink from your plotter :-)

<Remedy> 1.Waste ink absorber Use SERVICE MODE>COUNTER>PRINTER>W-INK to check the waste ink absorber. Replace if the waste ink level is near the limit (14400). After replacing the tank, perform SERVICE MODE>INITIALIZE>W-INK.
Hi! The printer counts every single droplet ejected by the print head due to waste ink absorber capacity. When the waste ink counter rise to about 90 % the printer shows message 'Waste Ink Absorber Near Full'; in this stage we can still continue printing by pressing Resume button until waste ink absorber capacity reach 100% and 'Waste Ink Absorber is Full' appears. To fix this problem you have to reset waste ink counter to 0%. Even though we can just reset waste ink counter without resetting waste ink counter, it strongly recommended that you replace waste ink absorber to prevent ink flooding inside the printer. To reset waste ink counter, perform the following steps:
Plug in power cable
While pressing Resume button press and hold Power button (do nor release the buttons)
Release Resume button (still hold Power button)
Press Resume button twice in a row (still hold Power button), after that release both Resume and Power button (then the printer standing bye)
Press Resume button 4 times then turn off the printer
In this stage your printer has operated as usual. Regards,
1-press the "menu" key
2-press the"copy" key
3-press the"#" key
scroll thru the menu heading until you come to "counter"
and select "clear all" it will ask you to "please wait"
then press menu two times
restart your printer
it will work
I believe what you are seeing is "WASTE INK TANK FULL"? This means that the tank that collects the waste ink from cleaning the head is full.
You can read more than you ever want to know on this subject on the following link:
These are the steps to clear the message by reseting the counter:
1)Printer on, press Additional Functions, Scan, Copy, Scan
Now you should be in service mode from there for waste ink tank reset
2)Select Test mode which is like the last available selection
3)Select #8 Printer Test, it will do something here like cleaning or something then it will come up with some other options this is where it gets a bit confusing cause now all it says is like 8-2 or 8-3 push the + or - button until it says 8-3 then hit the select button
The menu will now say EEPROM Clear
Select Ink count which is option (0) and press set
