No heat on any settings...worked the day before...great dryer, but less than a year old. What's up?

The heating element assembly warms the air before the air enters the dryer drum. If the dryer won't stop, it may be because the heating element assembly isn't working - which greatly increases the drying time. the only difference is the 4 prong has a ground wire,if you put the white in the middle,the red where it was before on one side and the black on the other side it should work.check the back of the dryer to make sure you have the correct voltage,with a meter set on volts,touch the white and red wire and you should have 110,then touch the white and black and you should have 110.if not you have a problem with a fuse in the house.one fuse runs the dryer and another is for heat but if you have 220 or 240 in the back of dryer something is blown in the dryer.you'll need to check out the thermostats and the heater in the dryer.let me know what you find.your vent line could be clogged with lint and popped the high limit thermostat on the heater box

Use a multimeter to check the heating element. You can't always go by looks. Check continuity and if there is none, the element is defective. Another thing to check is the thermal fuse. It is about an inch long and is usually attached to the exhaust duct. Use the meter to check it as well and if defective, replace it. Sure hope this helped and best wishes.

This could be caused by an internal thermal overload switch. These usually have a limited life span in any appliance that uses heating elements. Try to locate the overload switch which usually looks like a small diode or resistor. You can determine if this is the cause by bridging the switch with a piece of wire, then trying the dryer once more.

We got the problem with our dryer figured out. After checking possible solutions on-line, we checked the power going into the dryer with a ohm tester and discovered we weren't getting full power that we expected. Just after changing the fuses in the house the first time we heard a snap sound but the fuses appeared to be fine, but no heat to the dryer. When we discovered we weren't getting full power we used the ohm tester to test the fuses indiviually and discovered one of the fuses were bad. Put in a new fuse and wala! the dryer is putting out heat. Thank you so much for the service you provide to "do-it-yourselfers" like us!

call whatever brand it is and have them send somebody out there. if its less than a year old its underwarrenty
