How do i reset the filter light on my refrigerator msd278ge

The filter light is controlled by time interval. Not by how much water that has gone trough it. Your refrigerator does not know that it has a new filter before you tell it that it has. I dont know the brand of your fridge. But there is a reset filter button. Look at the attached picture for a example. On this fridge this picture has to pressed and keep pressed for 10 seconds to reser filter light from red to green

Press and hold "Alarm" touch pad for 3 seconds and it should reset the filter light to blue.

There is usually a reset button near the change filter light. Without the model number I cant tell you exactly where.Please comment me back so I can further assist.
