Usually when you have a washer that will not drain, first check if the drain hose is kinked or too high above the washer (8 ft is the limit of the washer pump). Next check if there is a blockage in your drain (often a stand pipe) or if the air can't get into the stand pipe. The final thing to check is for foreign objects in the pump to drain hose area that block the drain. (This requires getting into the pump and disconnecting the hose. Keep a bucket ready to catch the water that will pour out of the washer.)

(at least my washer won't spin if the water can't pump out. On a few washers (non-high efficiency) the solenoid has failed to open for the pump to drain the water.)

the problem is either your pump or your hoses. this an easy fix. all you need is a screwdriver and a bucket to catch water. 1st unplug the machine and remove the drain hose from the drain. then try to drain the water from the washer by plugging it back in and setting the washer to drain. if no water comes out of your drain hose then you know your plumbing is ok. next put the drain hose back in the drain and take the cabinet of your washer. you will see your pump with 2 hoses connecting to it. one hose connects to the basket and the other to the drain. disconnect the hose coming from the basket and if water comes out then you know the basket is not blocked with any article of clothing. if both check out ok your problem would be the pump. write down the model and serial number to your washer and buy a pump. they are only about 15.00. remove the old and install the new. having a repairman like me install would cost about 150.00, so i advise you to do it yourself or have a friend help.

The water pump can be blocked and thus stop the machine from finishing the wash cycle. In front on the bottom there is as hatch that can be opened with a flat screwdriver, the small black rubber pipe can be used to first drain all the water before the opening the filter. Small objects such as coins coluld be found in here, blocking the pump. Clean the pump by removing these, optionally blowing into the outlet (yuck!), to dislodge anything. If that does not help to fix the problem, you can clean that actual water pump, but this requires you to use a screwdriver to remove the pump.

Tilt the machine on its side, the pump is attached with 3 self-tapping screws. (if you can't figure out what the pump is you should probably let a technician do this). The pump has 2 parts to it, take it apart carefully and clean out all the dirt that has accumulated in there. Plastic friendly, waterproof grease can be applied to the pump spindle and bearing if available.

If the problem still persists a new pump is available from LG at a reasonable cost.

This means you have a leak on your cooling system.Be very careful with that as if you are not careful it will end up blowing the head gasket which will be costly to fix.My suggestion is to find the leak, drain the cooling system and fix the leak which will be less costly and easier than having a replacement head gasket.
