I hav buyed a new acer v173 lcd monitor,and used upto 10 months till now.Lastday when i switch on my lcd,it showed the Acer logo , and suddenly the color of the screen changed,now the lcd works but i could not identify anything in the display.the display sometimes shows like red green and blue layer by layer , sometimes white dots in black window , sometime only white colour . The problem is of the monitor and not of anything other . So pls tell me what is the problm and what should i do to get it back repaired. . .

For the power supply?

While it is possible it really depends on your skill level. Most monitor front panels "click" together. Using some of the tools that are used to repair mobile phones should help such as plastic spadal tools to keep from damaging the plastic edges when you are attempting to pry them apart. It is best if you do not use metal or damage will occur that you can not repair.

You need to check the fuse (round black component next to the small green circuit board as shown on the left of the picture), DC filter caps for domed tops, DC voltages. Tho have to fix will not be worth it. The problem is more likely to be the small circuits board (on the left of the picture).

You may have problem in the logic board, it uses surface monted components no much chance for DIY repair.

The cases these days are hard to open, they use plastic finger hooks types, they go in easy but real hard to remove without damageing them.
Use thin flat blade to crack open at the bottom edge so the scratches will not be so noticeable, and work your way around, look out for cables attached to the front bezel also.

their is no out put for speakers on this model you need to use your computers output

Hi...there,
It's turns blue to power safe mode (yellow) it's prevent futher damaged to your monitor. It's seems you got a busted backlight inverter. Need to replaced a new one...Since you only got it for a few months, send it back to Acer for a replacement of a new backlight inverter... Have a nice day!

If the warranty will end in 10 days contact your dealer right now or acer. repairs are free if the problem is covered by warranty. (for example not abused)

We had the same problem with the 17" we bought in Aug. Sent it back for repair. Acer sent it back without fixing the problem. Started doing it again in Nov. This time I called a supervisor and they sent me a new monitor. Well yesterday it started doing the same thing. You can fix it temp buy unplugging it and holding down the on-off switch for 30 seconds. Please let me know if you have a better fix.
