Got the dreaded "Call Service" symbol

Hi There... I got the "call service" symbol on my Toshiba 2060 copier. The manual suggests that this is a problem with the heater. Is there anything I can do to diagnose the root cause of the problem myself... prior to calling in the experts? Thanks for your help.

The machine shows spanners

Hi,

If you press the ' clear ' and ' 8 ' button, at a time both has to be pressed continuously then after two to three seconds you can see some code like "c44", "c43", c26, "c01".

the spanner means it is call for service. you have to call a service engineer if the symbol is blinking even though you may clear some of these with the codes.

These spanner blinks then it is saying that some part has gone bad and it need the replacement , service, reset of the code. any one of the three.

I would have to say that you are missing the fuser drive. I would remove the fusing unit and look to see if you are missing any gears or any missing teeth from a gear or just missing a gear...
