With the hinges having been broken you will need to contact a repair center to have this fixed.

Does my compaq presario CQ70 notebook pc have a DVD burner

Yes you should be able to "burn" DVDs with the drive that came with your laptop. Look for the Windows DVD software to create DVDs.

The screen is floppy on my Compaq Presario CQ70 and needs tightening can you inform me on how I can resolve this please ?

Check the screen mounting screws on the back of the laptop near the hinges, make sure they are tight.
If these screws ar tight and the screen is loose then the hinges need to be replaces because there are no adjustments available to tighten them.
Replacement hinges may be available from one of these WEB sites.

My Presario 300 has two broken hinges

Yes they can. You can buy new, or look on Ebay to see if any are available.

You have to remove the LCD Screen Bezel, LED Cover, (Switch Cover), and the Keyboard to access both hinges.

Sound like I'm typing a foreign language? Let me show you a guide to replacing those hinges, complete with photos, so that you may better understand,

This is a PDF file download for a Compaq Presario 305. After you click on the link, give it time to fully download before looking through it.
Here is the direct link,

http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/edwin/laptops/Compaq/Compaq%20Presario/Presario%20305.pdf

If that doesn't work for you, here is the page it came from,

http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/edwin/laptops/Compaq/Compaq%20Presario/index.html

It's in the right column. -> Presario 305.pdf
Start with Page 18, Preparing For Disassembly
Read and view Pages 24, 25, and 26. These pages show you the three connectors that must be disconnected, Display Panel cable, Inverter cable, and Audio cable.
(Pay special attention to how a ZIF connector comes apart. It's real easy to do, believe me. Page 23 shows you. You'll see that the ZIF connector is made up of two parts. The main connector body, and cable guide. The guide is shown in an up position in the illustration. It is down next to the main body of the connector, when you start. The guide does not come out all the way. You merely lift it up with your fingernails to the position shown, and the cable slides out. To replace, insert the cable in the correct orientation, then push the guide down against the main body)

Removing the keyboard is on Page 37. Removing the Switch Cover is on Page 40.
Removing the Display Panel is on Page 42.

Don't let this task seem that daunting. You CAN do it! I advise using a clean egg carton for the various screws. Label each egg holder for where the various screws come from. (Sounds pretty techy, huh? lol! That's what I use!)

Compaq Presario V4000 (v4118AP) right hinge broken

I had the same problem, they are very easy to fix, I did a search earliar and found some on the link below.

http://www.pchub.com/uph/laptop/291-29919-6327/Compaq-Presario-V4000-Series-Hinge.html

You do not need to dismantle to base, you have some star screws under the battary and one either side that loosens the small panel near the screen (where the power button is). The screen cover has screws under the plastic covers then just unclips, be gentle. after that it is self evident

Compaq presario 1200

there are plastic covers over the hinges, which may be part of the faceplate. being a compaq the hinge screws are most likely torx head screws. compaq used to make a special tool for removing the plastic covers on their laptops. the tool was a bar with a piece of fiberglas circuit board embedded in it. you insert the circuit board into the groove between the top and bottom covers and twist. this is, of course after removing all of the cover screws. some of the cover screws on the display may be hidden under rubber bumpers.
