My Coolpix 3200 was working all ok until I unfortunately tried to help a friend to recover his SD memory card. I put the faulty SD memory card in the camera and tried to format it. As the camera wouldn't recognize the card, I tried playing with the card in and out from the camera. After doing this, I got "system error" on the LCD. Turning the camera on and off, taking the batteries in and out, putting another formated SD card -
Nothing brought my camera to work again. My I know why did this happen? Is there a way to fix it by myself? could I try to make a firmware upgrade to solve the probem? Please help..... Dany [email protected]

Yes a firmware upgrade will fix it but before that you can try to reset it(Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds). If this doesn't work then a firmware upgrade will do the trick..

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Nikon coolpix 3200
Had the same problem all of a sudden one fine morning. It's probably the shot button itself which is a 2 position switch and needs intricate repair or replacement. Unfortunately, it has to be looked up by a technician as the whole camera must be taken apart. Best of luck.

Flash memory card
Perhaps it didn't complete formatting. This happened to my mom and I tried her card in my camera and it wouldn't work there either. We had to replace. You might take it back since you just bought it. That way, you will know if it's the card or the camera.

Switch on - Switch off! Coolpix3100
Coolpix uses SD cards, not CF. Anyway, try using the camera without memory card, only with internal memory. If it works, then replace memory card.
