Ok my guess is the laser is broken or out of place eather replace the laser which i recomend or take the ps3 apart and fix it urself that i dont recomend

If it is not reading games,movies, or any sort of disk at all all it does is show the "reading disk" sign on the top right hand corner it most likely means that your blue ray reader died. That happened to me, i had to contact Sony to get it repaired. Of course i before hand i would recommend you to turn off system for a while, make sure disk is clean, and retry.

You might want to go somewhere that works on game systems and get the disk reading laser checked and make sure it is clean and also make sure the game disks are clean and not scratched.
its a problem with the latest download update. sorry to say but its a job for sony as long as its still under warranty. just phone them up explain the probs your having and they will send you a new (normally reconditioned) unit out. i'm getting my new one tomorrow. upset it broke but sony's replacement service is very good.
