HP 7210 All in one - cannot get new black in cartridge

My husband took out the used black ink cartridge # 96 before I got home with the replacement #94 per the manual should fit. I've watched the HP support video twice and there is no way to slide the cartridge in as shown because it is not a pure rectangle shape, there is an extension sticking out on bottom side where copper contact points are. Have read the manual, watched the video, shoved at it and it is not going in. Is there a trick or some lever to lift to get it to go in? Print cartridge access door does not lift up high enough to fit #94 under it and #94 is smaller than #96

they are both identical in texture. The point is that neither "slide in" because there are prongs sticking out of the white plastic guide slots that prevent it from going in in the first place.

Can someone else help me out?

Check to see if the old one slides in as rough as the new one.

I've work on a dozen of these. they don't lock in until the very end. They go in at an angle and snap in. Can't really describe it anymore because there's really not much to it.

"Can someone else help me out?" - That's sure rude! So much for free help. I don't even know why I bother helping out people for free and spending hours here, most of them act as if they are overpaying for free help.........

I have an HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One. I would like to know if there is any way to print a document that only needs black ink, even though a message always pops out that I have to remove and check the...

Hi

Black is not True black. It is slightly brown.

Printing in black uses mainly black but may also a tiny amount of a mixture of some of the other colours.

To minimize the usage of other colours:

HP Solution Center > Settings > Print Settings > Printer Settings > Color > tick Black Print Cartridge Only > OK.

HP ink can be expensive. It is possible to economize on HP inks in some cartridge formats by using Ink refill kits.

I hope this helps.

I am printing an invitation on my HP Officejet 7210 All in One. I am gettting striping in areas which have a lot of solid black. How can I fix this?

From the HP Toolbox on your PC you can run a cleaning page. If that doesn't fix it, or if you are using refilled ink cartridges, it may be time for a new black ink cartridge.

HP Officejet 7210 all in one, does not recognize new ink cartridge.

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group. Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them.

Replacing black inkjet cartridge

are you trying to change the cartridges while the printer power is in the ON position? If not, plug the printer in and open the cartridge cover and the bottom bar should move down and then open the top cover over each ink cartridge and pull the ink cartridge toward you.

Good luck

Hp 2610xi not recognizing HP 97 color cartridge

If you look in the 96 (Black) cartridge loading area you might see that the retention spring has poked a hole in the circut board. I am now either trying to replace the ink cartridge holder or purchace a new printer. I have about $70.00 in new ink that I can't use now. The 2610xi worked great until the spring popped out of its holder.
