Try getting some calcium, lime and rust remover. Follow the instructions on the bottle and run the dishwasher empty using only the CLR. Check your incoming water lines for calcium or lime build up.

Dishwasher not cleaning dishes

If it is a cheaper brand/model of dishwasher, you may have to rinse the dishes, especially if they have been sitting for a while. While there are dishwasher who are powerful enough to clean even crust off the dishes, most need to have the dishes rinsed off even just with cold water right after use....If you do not use alot of dishes per day and let the washer build up dishes after a few days then I would recommend a warm/hot water rinse even with a dish sponge and some soap. While some may think that this defeats the purpose of using a dishwasher, remember that a dishwasher is more sanitary that using a dish rag or sponge that had the opportunity to build up bacteria and other gunk over a period of time ;-)

I put liquid dish soap (not even dishwasher soap) in my rinse aid compartment of my dishwaser...will this hurt the washer? Do I need to get soap out and how?

yes it will foam up unlike you have never seen before
by disassambling the door and removing the risne agent dispenser and very throughly draining the soap it may get all of it out(rinse it with only cold water since hot water promotes sudsing while cold water kills sudsing) if even a few drops remain it will suds like crazy during the rinse cycle (when the agent is dispensed) to remove all suds from the machine fill a cup of white vinegar placed in the upper rack such as if you would drink from it (not upside down) and run the d/w of a normal cycle
a better but unfortunitly more costly solution would be to replace the rinse agent dispenser

Cutlery is cloudy and dirty, some food is dried onto knives and forks. Cups and glasses are cloudy and not clean on inside. Coffee or tea stains are not removed. Plates and soup bowls seem OK , and water...

they must have changed the way they treat the water in your area. those spots are caused by hard water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product out for this problem. it filters the water going into your dishwasher leaving them spot free and crystal clear with every load. you will love the way your dishes look.

Dispenser door

Remove the outer door panel and check the actuator for the soap dispenser door it is probably broken. You might also check and make sure you don't have an old soap build up inside the soap dispenser. Sometimes old soap builds up and dries inside the dispenser and causes the door to stick. It should be free. Good luck.

HElp Dishes not coming clean

Run the unit with no soap, after about 5 min. of run time open door and check to see if water is clear or soapy,If soapy then you are having an oversudsng issue. When your washer gets to rinse cycle, your unit (if oversuding),will be rinsing with soapy water and the the drying cycle bakes the soap on dishes. You might be having a white film on your clear glasses.Cut down on soap especially if you have soft water.powder soap is best.Your dishwasher will fill , wash , the drain. Its what you put into it that will cause dishes not become clean.
