they said that they would call back when they have a solution

    Same Issue. Error codes:
    0000-000B
    0000-F001
    00C2-01A0
    AFFF-0016

Waiting for a call back from xbox live.

This is an xbox that was sent to me when I sent my original in for repair. This is a different xbox than we sent in. I got it back in November, but only now hooked it up. (We bought an Elite while we were waiting)

This same things is going on with me. Had an original 360, and they it had the red ring of death. Sent it out for them to fix, and they sent a new one instead of fixing my old one. Now I'm having these problems.

There TECH support is just shy of useless. From what I'm reading on line others are having this same issue. It's the same error that pops up when xbox live started booting people for having modded xbox's, just not with the after screen explaining why you were booted.

Tech support was supposed to call me back within 5 days from 04/15. That was just over a week ago. I called them back last night and now they are telling me I have to wait 15 business days from 04/23/2008 until they come up with a solution.

I've been with xbox live since I beta tested it back in 2002. I've NEVER been treated like this before with them. At most it is a 1-2 day window and they will get back to me. It seems they've grown to large, and their TECH support has dwindled.

I know my NICS card is working correctly because I can see my home network with all my songs/vidoes.

Can anyone give me any other suggestions/solutions?

ALAS! I found out how to fix this problem. Go to another persons 360 and recover your gamer tag on there 360. Once you do this it will open your gamer tag to work on your own 360. I did this a couple days ago, and it worked for me.

360 Tech support really blows. No way can any other business in the world say: Wait 15 business days and we will TRY to get back to you. HORSE HOCKEY!

Reset you modem and router default settings by hitting the Reset button on it. Then power cycle your components and try again. Trust me.

Try to exchange you xbox for another one, and if you talk to the supervisor and treaten that you would switch to sony, he will throw in a free game, controller, or headset for free.

Alright my girlfriend just got an xbox and she has everything set up, but she cant connect to live because a text pops up that says that it requires an update but she said that it has said that 5 times....

The easiest way to update your console software is to connect to Xbox LIVE. To update your console by using Xbox LIVE, all you need is an Internet connection.
  1. Connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet. To learn how, please see How to connect to Xbox LIVE.
  2. On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  3. Select Network Settings.
  4. Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
  5. Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
  6. Select Yes if you are prompted to update the console software.

If you receive a connection error, try using the Xbox LIVE Connect Solution.

Console update did not install successfully?

If her system says that she needs an update then likely her connection should be getting to Live. You might need to clear her cache first and then try the steps above. Here is how you will clear your cache:

To clear the system cache

  1. Go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Memory.
  3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
(It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)
  4. Select Clear System Cache.
  5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes:

Cant sign in to xbox live because when i try it says enter pass code

If you have forgotten your pass code, and if you have to remove it to sign into Xbox LIVE, follow these steps:

Note The following steps apply only to Xbox LIVE online profiles. When you delete an offline profile, you lose any Gamerscore that is associated with the profile. You also lose achievements and statistics that are associated with the profile.
  1. Delete the profile for which you forgot the pass code. To delete a profile, follow these steps:
    1. In the My Xbox area, select System Settings.
    2. Select Memory.
    3. Select the memory device on which your profile is stored.
    4. Select Gamer Profiles.
    5. Select the profile that you want to delete.
    6. Select Delete. When you are prompted, select Delete Profile Only.
  2. In the Xbox LIVE section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live.
  3. Select Yes when you receive the following message: To join Xbox LIVE, you must exit your current session.
  4. Enter the gamertag for which you want to remove the pass code, and then select Done.
  5. Select Next.
  6. In the E-mail Address section, type the Windows Live ID credentials (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in to the Windows Live ID) that are associated with your gamertag, and then select Done.
  7. Enter the password for the Windows Live ID account, and then select Done.
  8. Select Sign In.
  9. If you want to set the pass code again, follow the steps to set an Xbox LIVE pass code.

Hi folks ive got a damn problem getting on live everytime i try to sign in it just says ive got internet connection but cant connect to live fully..... when i do live connection test it says ive got a port...

I was searching the web concerning this problem, and apparently there's a good amount of people dissatisfied with the results from their netgear dgn2000 router when hooked up to Live. You can pick up a pretty good router from Best Buy for under 40 bucks. That sucks that you're ISP and xbox support aren't helping. I usually go past Netgear and shoot for Linksys or D-Link just because I've had good relations with them. Good luck getting back to gaming, man.

Connecting to xbox live failing

The xbox live board is down,so if you pass all tests except the xbox live one, this is the problem.I rang them and they said over 50% of users are having this problem. Its because so many people went on it over Christmas and the system got overloaded. They said they're working on it and it should be up and running in a week or two. ~~PS~~ I rang on the 12-1-08 so it should be up by the 20th,its not your fault, the servers down.
