The electronic igniter is stuck on the "on" position. U can disconnect the wire going to it and it will stop and you can resort to using a match to light the burner. OR, you can clean out the igniter assembly since they often get all gunked up with grease, etc and restore it to proper operation.
Will most probably be a problem with your ignition box. If you want to test this try taking off the hob by undoing the screws under the burners, be very careful with these however as it is very easy to strip the thread on them, once you have the hob off try unplugging the ignitor that keeps sparking and swapping where its plugged into the ignition box with another ignitor. These ignitor can be plugged into any plug in the box so no worries there. If the ignitor keeps sparkings in another hole its the ignitor. If the new ignitor sparks its the ignition box. It will most probably be the ignition box. Is a common fault
the ignitors have got wet usually due to cleaning. they are usually located under the rotating switches
just let them dry out ( very well .....may take days)
and it will work normally again
use mactches for ur gas burner if the ignition not really work.put all gas in off position b4 cleaning by using a vacium in the place of the control knob, turn off the power b4 try to clean, tnx
Hi
Glad to Help you!!
Take the knob off, them remove the cover that housed the switches, OK, Now, Look at the switch that is continiusly clicking and it will have two wires goin onto it, remove these wires and just lift the sending unit, and inspect it for water, grease etc ect....clean and dry and put back on and try again it should work, if it does not work, then just get a replacement one, they are not expensive, I just replaced two on my Jenn-Air myself and it cost me $25.00.
Hope this will help!!
1) try leaving it off for a while to see if the ingition box needs to reset
2)when you turn on the burnner does the ignition start by itself or do you have to "ignite" the burnner yourself?
3) if oyu have to ignite the burnner yourself, try using a bbq lighter to see if the gas has gotten to your range yet.
4) if no gas present, there is ussually a reset in the regulator. it needs to be reset if it gets low on pressure. you need to have the lines connected and then turn on the gas AND then the appliance. if the appliance is turned on before the gas in turned on the rest will pop.
lets us know what happens :)
