Go to the manufacturer's web site. Find the link for customer support and then search for your model. Then find the link for drivers or downloads. (The latter link will include manuals and drivers.) Enter your OS information to get the correct software for your computer. You will often get a choice of the basic driver and the full-featured software. The full software includes tools that give ink status and other messages so that you do not need to check the printer as often.
For HP (since this was listed under HP printers), go to
http://www.hp.com . Then click on the Support and Drivers link at the top.
If your printer is older, the OS may include the driver. (All-in-ones usually require the manufacturer's drivers to use all functions.) This information is usually provided on the support site.
